Morimoto XB LED Headlights: XB Evo, XRGB Evo, or Hybrid
You already know you want Morimoto XB LED headlights on your vehicle. There is not a bad choice in this lineup, so this is less about picking a winner and more about matching the variant to what you actually want out of it. All three run the same four bi-LED projectors powered by Nichia automotive LEDs, so the low beam and high beam output is identical across the board. The differences come down to features, and once you know what those features do, the right pick is usually obvious.
That decision starts with what each tier gives up.
Matching the variant to what you want
If you only want a clean white daytime running light and have no real need for heated lenses, the XB Evo Hybrid gets you there without spending extra on features you would not use, and it still shares the same core bi-LED architecture as the full XB Evo. The Hybrid drops the mode selector keys, the lens heaters, and the standard startup sequence to hit a lower price point, and it runs a white-only DRL instead of the switchable white-to-amber DRL on the standard XB Evo. That said, bolt on the supercharged LED drivers, which boost output 30 to 50 percent over stock and install on the back of the housing in minutes, and the Hybrid picks up the welcome sequence as a side effect of the driver swap. So even the value-priced option ends up delivering a lot of what people buy the full Evo for.
The supercharged drivers are off-road use only.
If colorful headlights are the goal, whether that is a switchable DRL color or full RGB lighting effects, the XRGB Evo is built for exactly that and is worth the extra spend if that is what you are after. If you want the switchable white-to-amber DRL and the full feature set without the RGB lighting, the standard XB Evo covers it.
