Off-Road Pod Lights: Find Your Banger Series Fit
Size is not the whole story. A 1Banger and a 4Banger can share the same beam pattern, but where you mount it and what you're driving through, rock crawling versus highway high-speed work, decides which size and beam actually gets the job done. Start with the beam pattern, then work backward to housing size.
On the bench, the 1Banger's white wide beam measures 6500 candela, independently tested as meaningfully brighter than the closest single-pod competitor in its class. That is real light, not spec-sheet noise. Compare that to the flood patterns built for scene lighting: the 4Banger HXB pushes 1,750 candela per pod (post warm-up), while the 2Banger HXB sits at 900 candela, so "flood" means something different depending on which Banger you buy. Both run integrated Deutsch DT connectors, Makrolon PC lenses, and powdercoated die cast aluminum housings, and the 4Banger carries an IP69K rating.
Already running a set? We stock replacement lenses so you can swap beam patterns on the same housing instead of buying new pods.
Bottom line: match beam pattern to task first, then pick the housing size that fits your mount.

Frequently asked questions
How do I pick between a 1Banger, 2Banger, 4Banger, or BigBanger?
Start with the beam pattern you need for the job, spot for long-throw driving, wide or flood for scene lighting, then match that beam to the housing size that fits your mounting location, whether that's an A-pillar, bumper, ditch light bracket, or roof rack.
Why do the candela ratings differ so much between pod sizes?
Candela measures beam intensity for a specific pattern, not overall brightness. The 1Banger's white wide beam measures 6500 candela, while the 4Banger HXB flood pattern runs 1,750 candela per pod and the 2Banger HXB flood sits at 900 candela, because each is tuned for a different job, close-in scene lighting versus longer-throw work.
Can I change the beam pattern on a pod I already own?
Yes. Banger series pods use replaceable Makrolon PC lenses, so you can swap in a different beam pattern lens on the same housing instead of buying a new pod.
Are Banger series pod lights sealed for off-road use?
Every Banger pod uses a powdercoated die cast aluminum housing with an integrated Deutsch DT connector, and the 4Banger carries an IP69K rating for high-pressure wash and dust exposure.
What do I need to wire in a new set of pods?
Most installs need a Deutsch DT harness, a relay kit, and the appropriate brackets for your mounting location. Wiring, relay kits, pigtails, and replacement lenses are covered in the Wiring & Parts category above.
